Emotion Checklist

Emotion is a powerful signal. A negative emotion indicates something is wrong in our life, and we must make change. We can either change our action, or our perception.

    Anger (Upset) Our standard is violated by others Is anger related to a past event or person? Is our standard reasonable? 
    Depression Our belief is immobilizing us What belief do we have to change?
    Disappointment Our standard is not met by others Is our standard reasonable?   
    Guilt (Regret) Our standard was violated by ourselves Is the standard reasonable?
    Hurt Our standard is violated by others Is hurt related to a past event or person?      Is the standard reasonable?
    Loneliness Lack of connection with people Are you sharing enough activities or thoughts with others?
    Sadness Something we deeply cherish was lost. Seek replacement of things lost Is the loss real? Can we recreate partially what has been lost?  
    Shame Our standard was violated by ourselves Is the standard reasonable?  
    Stress We have to re-set our priority, or reduce our workload If the current priority correct?
    Worry Be more prepared for the upcoming event Have we done everything we can do? Are we able to accept the worst outcome?
